Rudolph Medd Box, Jr., 77, of Moncks Corner,
went to be with our Lord and Saviour, on Thursday, February 21, 2019. He
was born March 19, 1941, in Charleston, SC to the late Rudolph Medd Box
Sr. and the late Helen Crosby Box. He was a graduate of Chicora High
School, a veteran of the US Army serving in the 101st Airborne. In 1969,
Medd became the owner of Box Distributing and Box Auto Service Center
and was a second generation automotive proprietor on Rivers Avenue. Medd
also was a proud 50 plus year member of Hammerton Lodge #332, The
Scottish Rite, The Omar Shrine, was Potentate in 1994 and was currently
serving as the Treasurer. He was President of the International
Association of Shrine Motor Corp in 2009, as well as President of South
Atlantic Shrine Association. Mr. Box was a founding member of the Church
of the Resurrection, North Charleston, and served as a South Carolina
State Constable. Medd was a devoted husband, father, Pappy, and brother
and will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends. He is
survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Turner Box, his son, Rudolph
(Jackie) Medd Box III, and two daughters, Mary Frances (Kevin) Box Ahl ,
and Wendi (Wil) Box Bailey, his grandchildren, Ashley(Michael) Nuzum,
Drayton Cody Ahl, Heidi Marie Box, Rudolph Marion (Emily) Box, Bethany
Hollis Bailey and Trevor Louis Box, as well as his great-grandchildren,
Sadie Elizabeth Nuzum, Rudolph Marion Box, Jr. and Parker Reed Nuzum.
Medd is also survived by a brother, Allen Box, a sister, Marie Box
Myatt, a sister-in-law, Markie Smith, nephews, Craig Meyer and Bernie
Myatt III, and his niece, Stacie Myatt Bates. The family will receive
friends on Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at
Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. A
funeral service will be held on Monday morning, February 25, 2019, at
11:00 am at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 316 W. Carolina Avenue in
Summerville. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Carolina Memorial
Park, North Charleston. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial
